Handmade Ceramics

My name is Jackie owner of JC Pottery Barn based in Norfolk UK

I use stoneware clay and glazes to create my items

All materials used are food safe and very versatile

I use a potters wheel to “throw” pieces together with hand building and slip cast techniques to produce my items

All items are bisque fired in an electric kiln - then glazed before returning for a higher firing which vitrifies the pieces, ensuring they are suitable for everyday use

All my items are unique due to the nature of my handmade and hand finished work

Meet the Maker

Jackie Jackson

Potter & Owner

I have been interested in and enjoyed pottery for many years, having got the bug in High School. After attending several evening courses to brush up on my skills and techniques I purchased my own wheel In 2022.

In early 2023 I set up my studio with the help of my patient partner, with an electric kiln and the various equipment needed. In April 2023 with encouragement from friends and family I nervously launched JC Pottery Barn and I have been overwhelmed with the responses from supporters and customers from far and wide.

In the Summer of 2024 my stock has become available in shops in both Dereham and Watton in Breckland Norfolk, and in December 2024 I also started stocking my items in Swaffham, Norfolk - information the shops can be found in the menu bar above.

I have attended various Craft Events over the past couple of years but in 2024 was luckily enough to be invited to join Norfolk Creations who exhibit in various venues across Norfolk, information can be found in the section "Events & Shops" above.

I am developing new techniques and skills continuously - in ceramics you are learning all the time. Being a potter can be very challenging but also very rewarding.

My stock items can be found by visiting the link above "My Makes", you can also see these as well as commission items I have been luckily enough to make for customers in the review section of this website.

Please feel free to contact me should you have a question on any of my makes.
